Why do I see low network throughput over 10G network on PowerVM with RHEL6 ?

Issue

  • Speed between two VMs hosted on IBM PowerVM is very low as compare to AIX VMs on same environment.
  • IBM servers are connected with 10G switch.
  • Example : While transferring data from IBM to IBM server speed is in GB's and While transferring data from Red Hat vm to another Red Hat vm speed is in MB's.
