rhel7.4: systemd-journald process is terminated abnormally with a watchdog timer repeatedly
Issue
Even though systemd-journald is operating normally, SIGABRT terminates abnormally.
The following message is output to journal log, though not always.
systemd: systemd-journald.service watchdog timeout (limit 3min)!
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.4
- systemd versions before systemd-219-42.el7_4.21 affected
- specific version on which the issue was seen: systemd-219-42.el7_4.18.x86_64
