Kubelet fails to start on nodes during OCP 4.x IPI installation on AWS

Issue

• During installation, the installer times out waiting for the Control Plane to come up. it tries to append my base domain to the hostname given by AWS to the node. It also does this by using a " ". Why is it doing that?
