HTTP EJB client floods app servers with 401 requests with load distributed across multiple servers

Issue

  • If our EJB client load is sent to one app server, there is no issue. If we have two or more app servers up that load is balanced across, we begin seeing degrading responses and floods of 401s like below on the app servers:
