Issue

  • kube-apiserver stays in Progressing state with the below error:

    MissingStaticPodControllerDegraded: static pod lifecycle failure - static pod: "kube-apiserver" in namespace: "openshift-kube-apiserver" for revision:   12 on node: "master.example.com" didn''t show up, waited: 4m15s'
  • Install and Upgrade stuck with the error 'MissingStaticPodControllerDegraded'.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP)
    • 4.10 and above
