Why am I getting authentication errors when accessing JMX MBeans on JBoss EAP 5.0.x?

Issue

  • I am trying to port a JMX MBEAN from JBoss 4.x to 5.x.  I seem to be unable to authenticate properly before invoking methods.  Here is the error:
    10:13:53,114 ERROR [TestThread] getInfo() error=Failed to authenticate principal=null, securityDomain=jmx-console
10:13:53,114 ERROR [ServerInfoThread] getConfig() error=Failed to authenticate principal=null, securityDomain=jmx-console

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 5.0.x
  • JBoss SOA-P
    • 5.0.2
