  • Unable to reach a systemd socket unit from outside but locally works
  • telnet from external users fails with "Connection refused"

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • Network service controlled by systemd.socket unit
  • IPv4 address used to contact system with IPv6 enabled
  • IPv4-mapped address disabled with net.ipv6.bindv6only kernel tunable (sysctl)
