[JON] Resource metrics are not collected when a metric's collection interval is 0

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The agents that are trying to collect data start running at around 100% of 1 CPU
  • The agents stop sending any data to the
  • No JBoss AS metrics are sent to or displayed by the server

  • Agent debug log is filled with the following messages:

        DEBUG [MeasurementManager.collector-1] (rhq.core.pc.measurement.MeasurementCollectorRunner)- Measurement collection is falling behind... Missed requested time by [2182129ms]

  • Agent log indicates measurement collection is falling behind and the collection time was missed by the number of milliseconds the agent has been running

  • Agent is unable to collect metrics when metric collection interval is set to 0 seconds

  • High CPU utilization on server due to jon agent java process

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.0.0, 3.0.1
  • Metric collection schedule interval is set to 0
