Some pod logs are not transferred by fluentd in OpenShift

Issue

  • Some pod logs are not transferred by fluentd in OpenShift
  • Specific pod logs are missing in Kibana
  • Log forwarding stopped for a particular pod only

  • Fluentd pod log shows the following warning and won't process the pod log

    [warn]: [container-input] /var/log/pods/$POD_NAME-$POD_UID/$CONTAINER_NAME/0.log already exists. use latest one: deleted #<struct Fluent::Plugin::TailInput::Entry path="/var/log/pods/$POD_NAME-$POD_UID/$CONTAINER_NAME/0.log", pos=52428800, ino=xxxxxxxxx, seek=xxxx>
