Syslog can not create log messages in /var/log/messages and /var/log/secure.
Issue
- The
syslogdandklogdservices are running on the system but the/var/log/messagesand/var/log/securefiles are not created. -
Running following commands manually, creates the
/var/log/messagesand/var/log/securefile.[root@example ~]# /sbin/syslogd [root@example ~]# /sbin/klogd
