High application network latency or poor throughput due to ksoftirqd
Issue
- High application network latency due to ksoftirqd
- After updating from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 we observed that our applications are having higher network latency.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 and earlier
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 and earlier
- Network applications where latency matters (eg: ZeroMQ v4.3.4)
- Network applications where throughput matters
