System boots into maintenance mode and non-root LV's are inactive after reboot

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • System boots into maintenance mode and non-root LV's mentioned in '/etc/fstab' file are inactive after reboot.
  • There are following errors logged on console before dropping the control to maintenance mode:

    systemd[1]: dev-mapper-testvg\x2dtestlv.device: Job dev-mapper-testvg\x2dtestlv.device/start timed out.
    systemd[1]: dev-mapper-testvg\x2dtestlv.device: Job dev-mapper-testvg\x2dtestlv.device/start finished, result=timeout
systemd[1]: Timed out waiting for device dev-mapper-testvg\x2dtestlv.device.
    systemd[1]: test_mnt.mount: Job test_mnt.mount/start finished, result=dependency
    [...]

In the maintenance mode we could activate these LVs manually and boot the system. But these LVs could not get activated or mounted automatically during boot process.
