Volume Backup/restore with restic via OADP operator v1.0 does not preserve data

Issue

  • Restic volume snapshot/restore of custom application in same cluster fails partially.
  • The backup and restore report status as 'successful', but the data in persistentVolumes is not preserved after restoration.
  • Using Restic as backup method causes PartiallyFailed/Failed errors in the Restore/Backup when the pods are owned by DeploymentConfig.
