unexpected time jumps when using ptp4l

Issue

ptp4l has a sanity clock check to detect hardware/driver issues, which is enabled by default. In some cases it reports false positives, causing the synchronization to be temporarily suspended. This was observed in a configuration using the raw transport and multiple PTP ports.
