HBA port state does not automatically changes to "online" when the switch port is enabled

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • The qedf driver fails to re-establish the online F/C port state when the downstream F/C port is toggled unless a LIP is forced.
  • When a SAN switch port is disabled, HBA card state goes offline on Openstack compute node .But when the SAN switch port is enabled again, the HBA port state does not change. That is, HBA port does not become "online" automatically and "lip reset" is needed to bring the port online.
