KVM not able to use 1GB hugepages

Issue

  • Trying to enable static hugepage of size 1 GB on KVM host but not able to see the 1 GB size.
#cat /proc/meminfo | grep Huge
AnonHugePages:    235520 kB
HugePages_Total:     200
HugePages_Free:       20
HugePages_Rsvd:        0
HugePages_Surp:        0
Hugepagesize:    1048576 kB
  • Modified the boot option on guest as listed below:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=" vconsole.keymap=us vconsole.font=latarcyrheb-sun16 rd.lvm.lv=rootvg/rootlv elevator=noop default_hugepagesz=1G hugepagesz=1G hugepages=100"
