Packet loss on external network causing connection timed out and ping loss
Issue
- Unable to ping the destination server, possibly intermittently or less than 100% ping drop.
- Connection occasionally times out while accessing the application server from the client machine.
- Slow throughput performance of network transfers. Traffic slows down and appears to hang for long periods of time.
- Ping output shows packet loss:
X packets transmitted, Y received, Z% packet loss
- Connection timed out while accessing the application server from the client machine.
- Unable to telnet from one machine to another.
