The 'wbinfo -i' command does not resolve user info

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The "wbinfo -i aduser" command does not return user information.

  • Othe winbind commands such as "wbinfo -u" or "wbinfo -g" do function.

  • Issues only occurs when winbind is using the idmap_ad backend.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

  • samba version is samba-3.5.X or greater

  • samba is using the idmap_ad backend
  • Windows 2003 R2 or greater is running Identity Management for UNIX
