System stuck at boot after enabling swap

Issue

• System hangs at boot right after enabling swap:

Enabling local swap partitions: OK

• No other messages appear and the system is unable to complete the boot sequence.
• VM stuck at boot
• Server with RH 6.2 has KVM with guests on it
• A VM stuck at boot with the error

enabling /etc/fstab swaps: [OK]

• When login to VM at single user mode I don't see any problem with swap or any other error.
