Microsoft NFS Server causes messages such as: "NFS: directory {DIR} contains a readdir loop. Please contact your server vendor."
Issue
When quickly creating a large number of files (>=500) some of them are listed multiple times when using the ls command.
On occasion, the kernel logs messages like this:
kernel: NFS: directory exampletest41/v5 contains a readdir loop.Please contact your server vendor. Offending cookie: 1355628991
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5 and 6
- Microsoft Server 2008 R2 acting as NFSv3 server
