[RHEL6.1 Beta]KVM guest stall during installing RHEL5.x i386 .

Issue

  • We tried to install RHEL5.6 (i386) KVM guest on RHEL6.1 Snapshot1 host OS , but the KVM guest stalled during installation .
  • This problem did not happen on RHEL6.0 a regression.
  • We found that this ploblem occurs only in following condition .
    • 1,This problem only happened when install a KVM Guest of RHEL5.x i386 .
      • It did not happen when install a RHEL5.x x86_64 OS or RHEL4.8 .
    • 2,The KVM guest OS which is going to be installed with more than one CPU .
      • It did not happen when the KVM guest has only a CPU .

Environment

  • HOST  :Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 Snapshot1
    • kernel version:2.6.32-125.el6.x86_64
  • Guest :Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6 GA
    • kernel version:kernel-2.6.18-238.el5.i686
