Fluentd secure_forward to external aggregator not working in Openshift 3

Issue

  • Fluentd cannot send logs to external aggregator using mTLS:

    2022-01-21 14:26:35 -0500 [warn]: failed to establish SSL connection error_class=OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError error=#<OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=error: sslv3 alert handshake failure> host="external-fluentd.example.com" address="x.x.x.x" port=24284

  • Is it possible to configure secure_forward plugin to send logs to an external aggregator accepting TLS traffic?
