Why did "ntpstat" throw mesaages "unsynchronised, polling server every 64 s" ?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • ntpq -p returned that ntp is synchronised but ntpstat return unsynchronised
  • NTP Daemon is not working.
[root@hostname ~]# ntpstat
unsynchronised
   polling server every 64 s

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
