JBoss EAP 5 resource restart operation reports success even though shutdown or start have failed
Issue
- Problem with sequential operations
- Restart on resource failed but reported success.
- Configured restart group operation to halt on failure, but restarts continued to the other resources anyway
- Restart operation reports success even when shutdown fails
- Restart operation reports success even when start fails
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.0, 3.1, 3.2
- Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 5 management plug-in for JBoss ON
- Execution of the Restart operation for a JBoss EAP resource
- Operation status reports success approximately 3 minutes after it was executed
- Either:
- the original JBoss EAP process is still running -- shutdown was not performed or was unsuccessful
- a new JBoss EAP process is not running - start was not performed or was unsuccessful
