RAID array gone after reboot, mdadm skipping every drive because busy

Issue

  • While attempting to assemble the existing RAID array, getting the below error:
# mdadm --assemble --scan --verbose
mdadm: /dev/nvme1n1 is busy - skipping
mdadm: /dev/nvme2n1 is busy - skipping
mdadm: /dev/nvme0n1 is busy - skipping
mdadm: /dev/nvme3n1 is busy - skipping
  • Not able to assemble/start the RAID array.
