Why growisofs gives an error when multiple sessions are burned to a Double Layer DVD ?

Issue

• Unable to burn DVD+R Double Layer(DL) on RHEL 7.
• Does growisofs (dvd+rw-tools) supports burning data to Dual Layer (DVD DL)?
• Never had any problems with a standard DVD(4GB) but switching to DVD+R DL(8GB), arriving close to 4GB growisofs reports the error:

$ growisofs -input-charset=utf-8 -M /dev/sr0 -rational-rock -J -full-iso9660-filenames -use-the-force-luke=4gms -use-the-force-luke=notray -graft-points data3
:-( next session would cross 4GB boundary, aborting...
