Why does RHEV-M webadmin portal not report that password has expired to users attempting to login?

Issue

When the password of a user from an IPA domain has expired and the user tries to login to RHEV-M webadmin portal no indication that his/her password has expired is displayed and the following generic error message is displayed instead:

Login failed. Please verify your login information or contact the system administrator.

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.2.
rhevm packages version 3.2.5-0.49.el6ev or earlier.
