Compression codec for OpenShift Fluentd

Issue

  • We can’t enable the compression codec in OCP4 for fluentd. Actually, we don’t have the possibility to configure the cluster logging operator to activate the compress codec (for example for gzip) in our OpenShift clusters in a supported manner.
  • We would like to have a supported version of a fluentd.conf for the compression method to send our logs efficiently over the network and to avoid overloading our third-party logging system.
