SSSD service failed to start with 'unable to load module with path' errors in /var/log/sssd/sssd_default.log

Issue

  • We Cannot start sssd - and when we examine the /var/log/sssd/sssd_default.log we see the following errors:
(Fri Dec 27 18:45:17 2013) [sssd[be[default]]] [load_backend_module] (0x1000): Loading backend [ldap] with path [/usr/lib64/sssd/libsss_ldap.so].
(Fri Dec 27 18:45:17 2013) [sssd[be[default]]] [load_backend_module] (0x0010): Unable to load ldap module with path (/usr/lib64/sssd/libsss_ldap.so), error: /usr/lib64/sssd/libsss_ldap.so: symbol krb5_pac_parse, version krb5_3_MIT not defined in file libkrb5.so.3 with link time reference
(Fri Dec 27 18:45:17 2013) [sssd[be[default]]] [be_process_init] (0x0010): fatal error initializing data providers
