IPA 2.0 tech preview - Unable to start server and enroll clients after RHEL 6.1 tech preview upgrade
Issue
- IPA 2.0 tech preview - Unable to start server and enroll clients after RHEL 6.1 tech preview upgradeUpdating IPA 2.0 tech preview on RHEL 6.1 before IPA 2.1 on RHEL 6.2 may result in a failed start of the IPA server.
Trying to register an IPA tech preview client with ipa-client-install will then fail with the following error message :
root :ERROR LDAP Error : Can't contact LDAP Server: Failed to verify that ipa.redhat.local is an IPA Server.
This can be a problem for a RHEV update from beta 2 to beta 3, which update IPA tech preview, resulting in an error:
rhevm-manage-domains -action=validate
Error: Cannot detect LDAP provider type for domain test.example.com, details: localhost:389
Failure while testing domain test.example.com.
Details:
Cannot detect LDAP provider type.
