Issue

  • For an IP resource configured in a cluser, status check by rgmanager is returning "timed out", however 'Local ping' to the same IP is successful. Cluster resource and the corresponding service is configured as follows
<service name="prod1" autostart="0" domain="1" exclusive="0" max_restarts="2" restart_expire_time="3600" recovery="restart">
                        <ip address="10.10.10.82" monitor_link="1" __enforce_timeouts="1"/>

Messages appearing in /var/log/messages file are

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5 (with the High Availability Add on)
  • rgmanager managing cluster services

    • The cluster service contains a virtual IP (ip.sh) resource with monitor_link="1" set
    • The service has __enforce_timeouts="1" configured so that status checks will time out if they take too long.
