• Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5719 Gigabit Ethernet Controller
• tg3 driver version: 3.113
• firmware-version: 5719-v1.29 NCSI v1.0.88.0

Issue

• Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5719 Gigabit Ethernet Does not function in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 and newer
• NIC functions as expected with the 6.1 kernel installed. However same system in 6.2 and newer fails to detect the NIC.

Resolution

• Replacing a batch of faulty CAT6 cables resolved the issue
