Does KVM create guests with NUMA, and will these on the host be aligned so the memory/cpu ressources on the same host NUMA node are used?
Issue
For the tests, some VMs must be sized to 8 vcpus, even more, and in that case the limit, on the Bullion is the number of intra-socket cores.
NUMA Vms should be created (with an equivalent of vNuma in VMWARE). We tried several methods so far, but it looks like libvirt/kvm do not know how to manage VMs with several virtual sockets
Will this be supported in a next release of libvirt/kvm?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- KVM
- NUMA
