Unexpected behavior is seen when selecting one of the GMT offset time zones in RHEL 5
Issue
- Unexpected behavior is seen if we select one of the GMT offset time zones. For eg:-Setting Etc/GMT + X is actually setting the clock to Etc/GMT –X. The
datecommand is giving incorrect date. However, if we use actually country names, it worked fine. i.e. for GMT + 8-> selected 282 - Asia/Tokyo and it worked fine. Is this expected behavior with the TZ package?
Environment
