nautilus .Trash folder doesn't work on network shares

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The behavior of Nautilus on delete is to move a file into the .Trash folder. When files are on a network share, nautilus creates a folder in the root of the share and moves the file into there, .Trash-<UID>. These files are not visible in the trash can.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9
