Why does a VLAN interface fail to come up with the error message "Connection 'bond0.123' is not available on device bond0.123 because device is strictly unmanaged"?
Issue
- Unable to bring up VLAN interface in NetworkManager
journalctllog output shows the following:Connection 'bond0.123' is not available on device bond0.123 because device is strictly unmanaged
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- Mixed use of NetworkManager and network.service (with some ifcfg files containing
NM_CONTROLLED=noand some not)
