Provide mechanism to check overall health of application on startup in JBoss EAP

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • JBoss startup message is misleading as there may be problems on start up
    JBoss (Microcontainer) [5.2.0 (build: SVNTag=JBPAPP_5_2_0 date=201211232041)] Started in 96s:199ms
(Controller Boot Thread) JBAS015874: JBoss EAP 6.1.0.GA (AS 7.2.0.Final-redhat-8) started in 28480ms.
Can Red Hat provide a dashboard or mechanism via which an administrator determine problematic components instead of having to trail logs files.?
  • For instance we are looking to find out if there are any errors with deployed datasources, WARs, EARs *-service.xml files etc without having to grep through logs for ERROR or WARN regarding failed deployments.

  • Is there a way to get the status shown in the application server's startup-marker file via the cli?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 5.x
    • 6.x
    • 7.x
