RHV ovirt-imageio.service fails to start if IPv6 is disabled, displaying error - Failed to create socket for address='::'

Issue

  • After deploying a new RHV 4.4.7 environment with IPv6 disabled, the ovirt-imageio service fails to start on all hosts.

  • Error displayed in /var/log/ovirt-imageio/daemon.log

    ovirt_imageio._internal.errors.ServerStartupError: Server failed to start: Failed to create socket for address='::' address family=10 socket type=1 prefer IPv4=False. Underlying error is [Errno 97] Address family not supported by protocol
