RHEL6.1 installed on a Westmere-EP based server shows ERR interrupts in the output of /proc/interrupts.

Issue

  • After installing RHEL6.1 on Intel Westmere-EP systems with multiple processors, the output of /proc/interrupts will show ERR interrupts.
  • The ERR will have a interrupt equal to n-1 number of processor in the server but should have a zero count instead.

  • RHEL6.1 and previous
