Generic Hardware Error Source (GHES) via NMI is not supported in RHEL6.1 code

Issue

  • After installing RHEL6.1 (and previous) on systems that use GHES via nmi, the following informational error messages may be seen in the dmesg output.

    GHES: Generic hardware error source: 32992 notified via NMI is not supported!
GHES: Generic hardware error source: 32993 notified via NMI is not supported!
GHES: Generic hardware error source: 32994 notified via NMI is not supported!
GHES: Generic hardware error source: 227 notified via NMI is not supported!

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 and Previous versions
