Firefox starts in offline mode if NetworkManager is not managing network interfaces

Issue

  • We have bridged networking setup for KVM guests. In this case, NetworkManager ends up not managing the network interfaces and Firefox always starts in offline mode.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1
  • KVM
