Why the system shutdowns abruptly with security audit error?

Issue

  • System shutdown with last logs showing below logs:

    hostname auditd[56607]: Audit daemon is low on disk space for logging  
    hostname auditd[56607]: The audit daemon is now halting the system  
    
  • The system fails to boot & shuts down automatically during the boot sequence, showing an error related to the Security Auditing Service:

    [ ***  ] A stop job is running for Security Auditing Service (1min / 1min 30s)
    
  • Abrupt shutdown of the server.
