Is it possible store complex data in Elytron Attribute instance?

Issue

Is it possible to store additional and more complex java types than role strings in the Elytron security user session that are accessible and usable from applications code like EJBs? Or is this Attribute instance only able to store strings and the only possible way to retain data from login code to application code?
