Why does deadlock happen when using condition variables with pthread libraries?
Issue
- My custom application hangs on condition variables. After forcing a core (kill -ABRT), the stack trace shows that threads are wait()ing on condition variables but no thread is holding the associated mutex.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- glibc-2.12-1.7.el6
