Packages mentioned in `/etc/rhn/spacewalk-repo-sync/yum.conf` for exclusion are not excluded by spacewalk-repo-sync on Red Hat Satellite.

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 5.5
  • Red Hat Satellite 5.6
  • Spacewalk-repo-sync utility

Issue

  • spacewalk-repo-sync lacks include/exclude features.

  • Pakcages listed in /etc/rhn/spacewalk-repo-sync/yum.conf for exclusion are not excluded by Spacewalk-repo-sync while syncing the local repository on satellite.

Resolution

  • This issue is fixed in Red Hat Satellite 5.6 with release of RHBA-2014-0379.

  • For reference /etc/rhn/spacewalk-repo-sync/yum.conf file.

  • In previous Satellite version, use exclude option from command line with spacewalk-repo-sync:

  -e FILTERS, --exclude=FILTERS
                        List of excluded packages
