RHV failed to automatically restart highly available VM after unexpected host restart

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After abrupt host restart, a highly available virtual machine (HA VM) failed to be restarted and remained permanently down.
  • RHV-M tried to restart the VM only once and did not attempt to repeatedly restart the VM as expected when MaxNumOfTriesToRunFailedAutoStartVm is set to value 120.

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) 4.3
  • Red Hat Hyperconverged Infrastructure for Virtualization 1.7
