Why does a Gluster FUSE mount disconnect after updating the 'auth-allow' list?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After setting the gluster auth-list to a number of hosts, the FUSE mounts of the volume being modified get disconnected:

gluster volume set VOLNAME auth.allow NODE1,NODE2...

From the client logs of the FUSE mount, available at /var/log/glusterfs/mount-point.log:

[client-rpc-fops_v2.c:2635:client4_0_lookup_cbk] VOLNAME-client-X: remote operation failed. Path: / (00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001) [Transport endpoint is not connected]

  • Why is this issue occurring? How to prevent it?
