KIE Server fails to connect to Business Central controller with HTTP response code 405

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When logging into business-central and go to Menu → Deploy → Execution Servers to verify, kie-server is not shown.
  • The key sever template file <KIESERVER_ID>.xml (default-kieserver.xml by default) is not created.
  • In the logs, the following messages repeated every 10 seconds:
        16:36:44,987 INFO  [org.kie.server.controller.websocket.client.WebSocketKieServerControllerImpl] (KieServer-ControllerConnect) Kie Server points to non Web Socket controller 'http://host.example.com:8080/business-central/rest/controller', using default REST mechanism
        16:36:44,997 WARN  [org.kie.server.services.impl.controller.DefaultRestControllerImpl] (KieServer-ControllerConnect) Exception encountered while syncing with controller at http://host.example.com:8080/business-central/rest/controller/server/default-kieserver error Error while sending PUT request to http://host.example.com:8080/business-central/rest/controller/server/default-kieserver response code 405
