NetworkManager does not use the DHCPv4 provided hostname to set the transient hostname.
Issue
- NetworkManager is set to use DHCP provided hostname information, however on the next reboot, it ignores what DHCP offers.
- DHCP hostname is ignored and the hostname is set as
localhost.localdomain
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
- Isolated network without default route.
