getting errno=116 (ESTALE), when a file in NFS share is deleted

Issue

• Getting errno=116 (ESTALE), when a file in NFS share is deleted, which is still in use by an application. This errno=116 is observed only on RHEL 5, 6 and not in RHEL 4. In RHEL 4, the application continues to run without any error messages.
• Please confirm if above difference in behaviour for RHEL 5/6 and RHEL 4 is as expected? whether any code changes were done due to which only RHEL 5 and later releases, shows errno=116, when the file in NFS share no longer exists?
